My second grade students have a lot of energy and are eager to learn and achieve success. As growing scholars, they are always asking questions, problem solving, and utilizing technology. They are active learners and learn best with brain breaks, interactive learning, and movement.
I teach in a wonderful school that is set in a suburb of a city and has a culturally and economically diverse population of students.
Because every student learns differently, my students thrive when given a choice on how they learn.
My Project
The goal of this project is to meet the sensory needs of my students by providing them with Wobble chairs. My second graders are very mobile and full of energy! Movement has been proven to increase student learning and engagement. Allowing students to move, while seated, will benefit them in many ways. It will help them burn extra energy while remaining focused in class. In second grade, students are continuing to build work stamina. Sitting at a desk can be a difficult task for a seven or eight year old! With these Wobble chairs, students will be able to wiggle and wobble while they work.
Integrating these Wobble chairs into the classroom will stimulate students' senses and help increase engagement, focus, stamina, and motivation.
Better focus transpires into more learning and success! These stools will be used for many years and will aid in students reaching their goals and increasing their enjoyment of school.
