I am privileged to teach a wonderful group of third graders. My students come from a diverse socioeconomic and cultural background. They are amazing in every way, as they are creative, innovative, and enthusiastic! In my classroom I strive to create a community of learners. Creating community is essential to taking risks and deeper learning. I am committed to making a difference in my students' lives.

I am creating a classroom for all levels of learners. The minds of my students crave knowledge and I believe every child can learn no matter what it takes. I see the possibility in each of my students and I want to give them every opportunity to be successful.
My Project
This project will allow my students to have the choice of seating that will help them learn in a way that is best for them. Some students are not able to focus and perform well in a standard chair. Imagine being told to sit in an uncomfortable chair and focus to get work done. It would be hard to be engaged and focus on any type of work if our seating is unbearable. Flexible seating can help kids produce high-quality work and will allow them to take charge of their own learning! This project will allow me to give students the chance to stay engaged and increase their opportunity to succeed.

These specially designed chairs and balance discs are great flexible seating options! They are ideal for students who like to wiggle and wobble while they sit. These seats will especially be helpful to my students with autism and other sensory sensitivities. These flexible seating options will allow students to learn comfortably while meeting their learning style preferences.
