Wiggle and Bounce While We Learn

My Students

My students come from a very high poverty environment. Many are from homes where education and literacy are not a high priority due to parents' work schedules or difficulties meeting the individual needs of their child.

In my classroom, I am not only teaching students literacy and writing skills but life skills, manners, honesty, compassion, patience, and cooperation.

For most, the primary love, positive feedback, and nourishment they will receive for the day will come from my classroom and the school.

My Project

Remaining still for 84 minutes is far too much to ask of a child with ADD or ADHD. I provide opportunities for students to move around, but sometimes being seated is necessary.

Please help me to allow my students to wiggle while they learn with elastic bands to put on their chairs so they can move and stretch while seated.

Studies show that students learn more when they are allowed to exercise while learning. These bands will permit my students to bounce their legs in their chairs while seated without distracting their neighbors or fellow students. The bands help to keep students engaged.
