My high school students are often moving around in their seats or leaning back, causing our new library chairs to lose strength and stability. Hokki stools will give my students the opportunity to move around and fidget without damaging our new furniture. The students at North Gaston are from a generally lower socio-economic class. Students take care of one another more so than in other high schools in my area. We host the annual Special Olympics games in our stadium because of our Project Unify club and their work with students who have challenges both physically and cognitively.
From the comic book nerd to the class valedictorian, the learning commons at our high school is a welcome and safe space for all.
Libraries are often hang-outs for students in school. I would love to have more than five but, you have to start somewhere!
My Project
Students at all ages have shorter attention spans. Adults and students alike enjoy being able to move around while remaining seated and engaged. We are requesting Hokki stools that will provide my students the ability to move around while remaining seated. Having these stools will bring another dimension to the learning commons space at North Gaston.
Students will be able to more adequately focus on the work at hand if they are allowed to "fidget" while they work!
Imagine being able to have any chair you wanted at your desk. Some business actually let you - some people have desks that allow them to stand as they work. Hokki stools offers one more option to students who are preparing for college and careers.
