My Students

My students are great. They work really hard in the culinary arts classroom to produce dishes they have never tasted or seen before. They stay after and come during their free time to make sure everything runs more smoothly in the classroom.

Most of the students STRUGGLE with math though.

Culinary is a great place for the students to see how important math is.

The students don't believe math is important or see the application. With culinary, they see why they need to learn more.

My Project

These calculators will enable students to practice their math skills in my classroom. Currently I only have 4-5 calculators. When we do any math in the culinary classroom, students are waiting on a calculator to use.

With these calculators, students can practice more math in the culinary arts classroom and see where math is applicable to them.

When the students see application, they will be more likely to retain more information and improve math scores. These students don't know how to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa or how to complete simple equations. I can work with the students on these skills in my classroom with help from you.
