My Students
My students are deaf or hard of hearing. My students come to me to have their hearing tested and have their hearing devices checked. Many of my students do not understand their hearing loss, and the part of their ear that is causing them not to hear.
My deaf and hard of hearing students are in special day classes and are also educated along side their hearing peers in the mainstream.
Many of my students are in the process of undergoing cochlear implant surgery, bone implant surgeries, and ear reconstruction surgeries and want to know more about what to expect.
My Project
The human ear model MODEL GIANT EAR 3X LIFE SIZE will allow my deaf and hard of hearing students to touch and feel all the parts of the ear. My students will use the ear model to take parts of the ear off and on to see where future surgeries would occur in their ear. Having the knowledge and understanding of the ear and how we hear will help my student feel less anxious about having needed procedures to help them hear better with implantable hearing devices.
The 3D model of the ear will allow my students to understand what part of their ear is causing their hearing loss.
