Who's Got the Time?
My students need 30 handheld timers to help them reach their fluency goals.
Give us the "time" we need to become great readers. With the help of individual timers, the students in my class will be able to monitor their oral reading rate as they work toward our end of the year fluency standard.
My students are highly motivated and goal oriented learners that strive to meet the standards that are put before them.
Our school's state reading scores have been on the rise and we are very proud of the work our students are putting forth. With a more direct focus on fluency, I anticipate reaching those students who are approaching standard.
The students in my class are developing the skills necessary to take responsibility for their own learning. Having individual timers will allow each student to work independently toward the state reading fluency standard at their own personal pace. Taking the initiative to set and reach goals on timed passages is but one way I can ensure learners that are actively participating.
