This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing. There is a passion for learning that is evident each and every day. My students have taught me to love unconditionally, to have greater patience, and the power of perseverance. They come to school each day ready to grow! They are economically disadvantaged but don’t let their struggles affect their learning or spirit. Many of my students are ESL Learners and at-risk. Many are below grade level and are in need of a lot of interventions.

My Project

All of my students want to learn and enjoy whole group as well as small groups, on the floor. Currently, the students are sitting on the tile floor during whole group. This large area rug will give the students a more comfortable place to sit during their learning time. This particular rug will also help the first graders with having a defined space that is their very own. It is crucial that students are able to concentrate on what they are learning. Sitting on the tile floor could potentially cause students to become distracted from discomfort and from being cold.
