I have a wonderful group of students. They are full of wonder and excitement. They are ready to learn new things everyday and are great inquirers. I teach 4th grade at a magnet school within a large, urban school district.
We focus on hand-on inquiry based learning, and are an International Baccalaureate School.
Students are excited about coming to school and are actively engaged everyday. My students are inquisitive learners that take increasing ownership for their learning. They love to learn about the world in our hands-on, inquiry-based environment.
We are in need of a new rug in our classroom. The one we currently use is duct-taped on the sides and has several stains. We meet several times a day on this rug. It is where I teach our whole group lesson, we have our morning meeting and end of the day reflection, students lay on the rug to read and do group activities. I have recently converted my room over to flexible seating and we have been discussing how to keep our things in good condition, so they will last for several years for other students to have a nice place to learn and grow. We use the current rug as an example of when we don't take care of things they become eye sores and students don't want to use them. Having a new rug will complete my room transformation. A new rug will also add more color to my room.
