Who, What, When, Why...Where Are the Books!

My Students

The students in the self-contained English and History classes all have language delays and are in need of adapted reading materials. They don't want to depend on adults and want the independence that their peers have.

My students are amazing, determined and helpful to one another!

Despite the challenges they face of being Deaf, hard of hearing and having gaps in their language acquisition, they are all determined and want to learn as much as they can. They are in high school but because of language delays, the information they need to know for graduation requirements are often way too difficult for their reading levels.

My Project

HQ book series are the perfect books for independent learning.

The donations to this project will help improve my students' understanding of the history of the world around them.

My students are Deaf and hard of hearing so they miss out on important incidental learning skills so they are already at a disadvantage. While they are expected to comprehend and retain the history curriculum, the materials they would use to research are often way too high for them to comprehend independently. These books would enable my students to learn the material required but also give them the independence they crave.
