My students are a group of seventeen amazing young learners. They come to school each day excited, happy, and eager to learn. Their enthusiasm and individual personalities make each day spent in our room fun. I dreamed of becoming a teacher and each day spent with my students feels like a fairytale come true.

My students make me excited to come to school each day. I strive to make each day as fun and enjoyable for them as they do for me.
My students come from different areas of our city. Our classes are ethnically, academically, and economically diverse. Despite their differences, students share a common enthusiasm to learn. We have a strong classroom community and my students truly work as a team. My students are the future and our future looks incredible.
My Project
“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning.” -Mr. Rogers. I recently introduced my students to STEM materials that I purchased myself. My students absolutely loved them and keep asking when we will use them again.
Help us bring our familiar fairytales to life!
These STEM kits would greatly enhance our upcoming fairy tales unit of study. My students would be able to not only read about and discuss the fairytales but have a hands on experience as well. We would read about the Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf and then build a house that could sustain the powerful blows of the wolf. Students would read The Billy Goats Gruff and build a bridge with enough strength to hold the goats as they cross. We could read about Goldilocks and the Three Bears and build chairs for each of the bears. Other STEM challenges would include building a basket to hold Little Red Riding Hoods apples, building a ladder to help the prince save Rapunzel, and creating a raft to help the gingerbread man escape the fox. These materials will help cultivate my students imagination, love of learning, problem solving skills, and cooperative learning.
