Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students work hard every day to overcome life's difficult challenges and uneasy circumstances by taking chances, being creative, and applying new and different solutions to the fears, problems, and questions they face.
Some of the things I love about my students are that they never give up, they're creative and reflective, and are committed to working together as a community to learn from their mistakes, supporting each other when they need it the most.
They have decided we are a family - we support each together, work and grow together, and celebrate along the way!
My Project
My students love to read. We are working on understanding how reading can open doors to new opportunities, adventures, and experiences. These books from the Who Is, What Is, and Where Is are books my students can identify with. These books will provide opportunities for both struggling and above level students to learn about the world around them and build background knowledge.
These books will help my students learn about the journeys of people who took their dreams to reality and then my students can begin taking the steps to do the same for themselves!
The greatest gift you can help my students receive is building upon the knowledge that people can be anyone they want, they can go anywhere they want, and accomplish any task they set out to achieve. Learning about new places and meeting through reading people have done just that will inspire my students.
