Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love doing fitness stations. They need the basic supplies such as clipboards, markers, pencils, crayons, and other things to have the stations and keep track of their workouts.
I teach Physical Education in a high poverty inner city public school in Indiana.
Our school has almost 600 students, K-6, who love Physical Education! I see every student twice a week. We rarely go outside to play, and I want to teach the students how to exercise inside. Wouldn't it be wonderful if they could then go home and teach their families what they have learned? By doing this, the entire family will be exercising together, and everyone would be in shape!
Help me help them with childhood obesity!
My Project
Students will be working on fitness stations. By having color paper to print off the stations makes it so much easier to find. Students will have a clipboard and pencil to take to the stations. Students will rotate to the stations. As they finish a station they will mark down what they did and how many. At the end of the class period they will use a marker to let them know where they need to start the next class period. The younger students will use crayons to draw what they are doing. I love seeing their drawings.
Donations to this project will help over 600 students in my school get on the right road to do their part to fight childhood obesity.
With your help, we can get our students on the right track to start their own fitness program. Students will benefit from this program for many years to come. Teaching the students the importance of staying in shape is the key to their future.
