This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Exploring, hands-on activities, centers, and fun is the way I imagine teaching and learning in a Pre-kinder classroom. But what happens when students don't have the materials to meet these needs?
Most of my students come from low-income households and deserve to come to a classroom that is able to meet their needs.
They are special because they come to school every day with the willingness to learn. They show a determination that most adults don't have and they bring a joy to the class that would melt your heart.
My Project
The art easel, paint brushes, and paper will help my students with their developmental skills. In Pre-kinder one of the ways students learn is through exploring and being creative. The art center will give the students different ways that they can express their creative skills.
Painting allows the students to learn how to use different instruments and tools (paint brushes, markers, crayons, q-tip, cotton ball and straws) to make art work.
They will be able to learn how to mix the paint to make different colors and create different art work based on the theme that we are learning during that week or month. This will be a great learning tool to enhance our classes experience.
