My students need the "Who Was...?" books to learn about important historical figures and apply valuable non-fiction text skills in a fun and engaging way.
My students are an energetic group of third graders who love to learn! My school is a Title I school, with 100% of the students receiving free breakfast and lunch every day. We live in a rural community with a diverse student population.
My students enjoy coming to school every day and are always very eager to learn.
My students love to learn by using a variety of materials. My projects are all for supplies that will improve my students education and help them to become life long learners.
My Project
My students love history and learning about important figures from the past. History is a blast to learn when the references used are engaging and informative. The "Who was/Who are" series does a fantastic job of grabbing students' attention.
Sharing these fabulous books with my students will inspire a love of history that will last a lifetime!
Too many young people develop a dislike for learning history because of the boring way in which it is typically presented. It is essential that teachers find supplementary materials that help children embrace history, to connect with the stories, to see how their world has been shaped by the past.
By donating to this project, you will be helping my students get excited about learning history.
