My students need the book bins so they will be able to have their leveled books readily available. They need the nameplates so they know the correct way to write their name.
My student come from low income families who can not provide everyday supplies for them to be as successful as they could be in the classroom. I do not want them to feel that they can not do something just because they do not have the tools that other students have. They are amazing students who deserve the very best in life. I know that my students will become doctors, lawyers, teachers, anything that they believe that they can be.
My Project
Names are very important! Students need to know how to write their names properly. That is why I am asking for nameplates and sleeves so they will know how to write their names and how each letter is written correctly. It is very important for them to know how important they are and it all starts with getting their name correct. They also need to have the alphabet close at hand. Even when the alphabet in posted in the classroom, students get embarrassed if someone sees that they need help.
Students need to have their own book boxes.
Having their own book boxes will let them have their leveled books close at hand with out wasting time looking for a book at their level. They will not be discouraged that they can not read a book because it is to difficult for them. In these book boxes student will be able to choose leveled books and books that they are interested that they can read. Other students will not be able to tell what level each student is at so students will be more willing to read books at their level without feeling judged.
