Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My fifth grade students are a fun-loving bunch of kids who enjoying learning. My fifth grade classroom is located within an urban school district, and we are a 100% free breakfast and lunch school.
My students are a mix of general education, Special Education, and English Language Learners.
The students in my classroom have a wide variety of educational strengths as well as academic needs. They are creative, motivated, and show a desire to be successful in all that they do.
My Project
If this project is funded, these books from the Who Was and Who Is book series will help give my students the opportunity to research and learn about famous people of the past and present.
I would like to add these resources into my classroom library because I want my students to use print media, and not just online resources when doing research.
I chose various sets because I want to give my students the opportunity to research and learn about famous people who have played many different roles within our history and/or society. I currently have a very limited number of biographies in the classroom and many of them are not about people they've expressed an interest in learning about.
