If you would have asked me at 5 years old what I wanted to be, it would have been an easy answer, a teacher. The love of learning and helping others learn has never wavered since I first stepped foot inside the doors of a classroom at 5 years old. Although my educational experience was positive, I realized early on that it was not the case for everyone, especially someone close to me.
After this realization, I decided that I wanted to be the teacher that went above and beyond to reach all of my students and make their educational experience one that fostered a love for learning, no matter their ability or path in life.
I have been blessed to be placed at a school where I have the support to do what is best to reach all of my students and give them the experiences that cultivate a love of learning. Although my students come from different backgrounds, have different abilities and goals, I hope one thing is the same, the love of learning that they found in my classroom!
My Project
I appreciate you seeking out my project. As an educator, I often tell my students that learning does not stop when they walk out of the classroom. This sentiment also rings true for a teacher. As I ask my students to continue to learn and improve, I must also call myself to do so!
It is important as a teacher to never get complacent, but always strive to improve practices for upcoming students.
Student engagement is a key to classroom success. Through attending Get Your Teach On I hope to renew my passion for teaching and bring back new ideas to continually increase engagement in my classroom. I am looking for the BEST ideas and practices to implement in my classroom and I think Get Your Teach On is the perfect place to find new ideas! I also hope to pass on knowledge to other teachers in my school who feel the need to reignite engagement in their classes!
