My Students

Using a whiteboard to show their work makes learning more fun for my students!

My first graders attend a public elementary school in Northern California.

Our school is one of four TK-5 campuses in our town. Our school is focusing on College Readiness, letting each student know they will have the option to attend college if they choose to do so. We work hard each and every day to ensure that all of our students are given opportunities where they will be successful, contributing members of their community.

My Project

We use whiteboards every day to show our thinking. The whiteboards I inherited with my classroom are at least a decade old. They are peeling, have dried marker on them, and some even have naughty words scribbled on the back. I have done my best to remedy these whiteboards with tape and marker, but they are on their last legs. My students use the whiteboards to practice math, write sight words, and to record their thinking during lessons. In addition to whiteboards, my students also use dry erase markers daily. Most of our markers are beginning to dry out and need to be replaced.

Donations to this project will allow my students to have quality whiteboards to use everyday.

No more fighting over the whiteboard with the least amount of tape or with the cleanest surface. My students will be able to demonstrate their learning in a way that is quick for me to check for understanding.
