This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is committed to providing a safe, child-centered environment which offers students the maximum opportunity to learn and achieve academic success. Our mission is to help our students acquire literacy and become critical thinkers through a curriculum that is rich, balanced and aligned with performance standards.

Our resources are limited, and we need your help.

These materials are for multiple third grade classes that are located in New York City.

Nearly all of our students are from low-income households and have extremely limited resources.Our elementary school has grades PreK-5 and houses over 800 students in two separate buildings. Basic materials have become difficult to acquire for our Title I school.

My Project

The last few weeks have been challenging and honestly confusing for most New York City students. We are teaching remotely, the kids complete digital assignments, and I read them a book daily through google classroom. I want a whiteboard so that I can teach them other subjects from home. Otherwise, it will be difficult for them to learn the curriculum. Additionally, I believe that completely all assignments digitally is hindering their growth. They need to continue showing their work and working through problems in a traditional (pencil and paper) method.
