My students need 32 dry erase boards, 4 sets of erasers, and 8 packs of markers that will easily fit in their desk markers to use in small groups, math and language arts instruction.
Do you remember the first time you finally got a math concept because you worked on it over and over? Using dry erase boards will save us reams of paper and get instant feed back.
I teach in a rural community with low income.
Our school is a Title I school with over 80% of our students receiving free or reduced breakfast and or lunch. I have a mix of students in general education as well as special needs students. These students would like the opportunity to use dry erase boards during math, spelling, and English instruction. They were excited about the use of borrowed dry erase boards and are now ready to have their own. My shy, reluctant students can now be engaged without being embarrassed to participate.
My Project
I am requesting 32 dry erase boards, 4 sets of erasers, and 8 packs of markers. These dry erase boards will allow me a better snap shot of common mistakes or misunderstandings of the lesson concepts. Having students use dry erase boards will allow me to communicate with my shy, reluctant students who very seldom share answers or thoughts, if ever. I would hope it would give them confidence in their knowledge.
The use of dry erase boards will allow my students to all be engaged at the same time.
I will be able to quickly observe if my class is "getting it" or if I need to adjust my instruction. The use of these boards will help reduce the use of paper and they will be more fun.
