My students need a place to work. I want to cover their desks with whiteboard material to give them a place to work their math problems and save on paper and clutter.
I love to watch my students realize they are more than capable of learning. Many of my students struggle to learn at the quick pace of a regular education classroom. These students who have struggled with learning disabilities need a place to slow down and be successful learning, using their unique learning styles.
My students need to feel successful and develop a love for learning and academic achievements.
They would benefit from additional resources to help with their reasoning and processing skills. Training the brain to think is a necessary step in problem solving. To make my students successful, I am hoping to get materials that help them think and stretch their problem-solving skills and their world views.
My Project
We use whiteboards and scrap paper daily in my classroom, especially in math. We use whiteboards for guided practice and to record modeled strategies. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. Having Dry Erase desks made of white board material will make it easier for my students to work at their desk without having to manage a whiteboard, paper, dry erase marker, pencil, workbook, and whatever else they may have on their desk.
Keeping their desks uncluttered will help my students stay organized and will also save paper as they work out problems.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
My students will also be given opportunity to be creative and draw during math and science lessons and free time. Being able to utilize and integrate their artisitic ability will also help students stay engaged.
Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. Being able to quickly solve and work out math problems will keep their minds focused and engaged. Every minute that is not lost, is a minute gained.
