"What are we learning today?" is often heard in our first grade lines as we enter our classrooms each morning. First graders have an endless supply of energy and excitement to learn and are always ready for something new! Our school serves students in K-8 grades, with a large portion receiving free or reduced lunch. We provide a challenging academic program and have earned an A rating for many years! As a Title One school, many of our little ones are facing challenges both at home and in the classroom. As early childhood educators, we strive to create a learning environment that is safe, engaging and fun!
Our first graders are curious about their world and are eager to share what they are learning!
From the minute they walk through the door, learning is the focus and we work hard to build each other's strengths and support each effort to improve! Economic challenges should never be a factor to determine our student's success. Engaging, purposeful materials and learning experiences are the key to providing our students with the tools they need to succeed. We hope to provide each one with a positive experience each day!
My Project
First graders love to show what they know! White boards are a fun way to practice daily skills in small groups, in learning centers and as a whole class to make corrections easily and show what we know!! Students love to work using different materials; markers, crayons, blocks, magnets and manipulatives are just a few ways to mix things up in a first grade classroom!
We are always looking for ways to eliminate copies and make learning authentic and personal.
White boards are just the thing to encourage students to participate and share their work. They make it easy to correct any mistakes or misunderstandings quickly and easily-just write and wipe them off!
The individual white boards. Free standing white board and little call-out boards will make learning fun for my little ones and allow them to show what they know and get instant feedback!
