Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a Title 1 teacher and football coach in Baytown, Texas. Being a Title I school, most of our students come from low income households. A lot of our students are eligible for free or reduced lunches.
Like many areas of Houston, some of our students were hit hard by Hurricane Harvey.
While some were fortunate enough not to get too hard, others were not as fortunate. Our campus itself had some water come into our gym.
We are a small 6A school and have a lot of great students and student athletes. Being a 6A program we go against some of the top programs in the great state of Texas.
My Project
We are a 6A school in need of new equipment to better service our athletes. No doubt our area was hit hard by Hurricane Harvey and our athletic program can use a big upgrade to better enhance our football program.
Our athletes love football and are using it as an outlet to get away from all the distractions around them.
We are off to a good start but need some additional items as well.
We are in need of 6 coaches board for our sidelines during the game. This will help our coaching staff to draw up formations and plays during the game. As well as make adjustments when the players are on the sidelines.
This is a great product that will help take our football team to a whole new level. It will allow our athletes to be more excited about the program, and hopefully put aside all the devastation they went through.
