My students need whiteboards and markers in order to complete whole group math instruction. Currently my students write on paper and it takes too long and is too wasteful.
This project expired on January 14, 2016.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are having a difficult time in math the past couple of years and I think the addition of materials for them to be able to get their hands on and do is a better option than having them watch me on the board. Students learn best by doing instead of watching.
I am new to the elementary school this year and am learning about my students every day.
They are active, eager, helpful and want to learn but can become easily distracted by watching me teach instead of participating in the lesson. Whiteboards will offer them the opportunity to do so.
My students will mimic, copy and replicate what I'm doing on the board and will provide answers, which will be a form of assessment to gauge their understanding quickly and in the least time consuming way. Students will be using their whiteboards for mathematics instruction, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies as well as at various times throughout the day when an informal assessment is required.
These donations will put the materials in my students hands that I am not able to support on my income alone.
I really would like these materials in their hands to promote a better learning environment for all students to succeed.
