This school year I am teaching transitional kindergarten and kindergarten to 24 eager and enthusiastic learners. My class varies in level of school readiness and learning styles. My students range from the high achieving to at-risk and special education and everyone in between.
Kindergartners are energetic, creative, and eager to explore.
It is important for them to have access to materials that can help develop their skills such as communicating, problem-solving, and creative thinking that will prepare them for their future.
My Project
We use white boards throughout our classroom day. We practice our phonics, spelling, and printing skills on white boards. We share our thinking during mathematics all on a white board. Having individual white boards (Double-Sided Learn to Print Write & Wipe Board) for independent work and extra mobile white boards (Teach & Store Chart Stands and Learn & Store Chart Stands) for students to work together gives my students an opportunity to collaborate and learn from each other.
White boards give the students the confidence to take chances and the ease of mind in making mistakes; all due to the ability to quickly erase.
Students are eager to show and share their work when using a white board. White boards give students a safe space to take a risk.
