My school is made up of a racially, economically, linguistically, and culturally diverse group of middle school students who are passionate about using technology in the classroom and eager to have teachers who integrate technology effectively into their instruction.
Although my school is historically low-performing, the administration, staff, and students are committed to changing perceptions, breaking barriers, fostering growth, and achieving our goals.

My Project
Our Technology Office is a space for organization and maintenance of a great deal of technology: Brightlinks, computer labs, Chromebook carts, teacher laptops, and more. It is also a space for one-on-one and small group assistance and professional development sessions.
Whiteboards are simple tools, but they are what the office is missing, and it would make a big difference to have them.
Although technology is great, sometimes a whiteboard offers a better option for collaboration, organization, keeping track of tasks, and brainstorming, and it is the perfect resource to fit on a large, empty wall in the office. The large whiteboard with grid lines will be ideal for planning technology needs for computer-based testing, tracking content and progress for our in-development Spanish website, keeping track of Chromebooks that are out for service, planning and organizing a teacher's shift to Google Classroom or Canvas learning management systems, and more. The small whiteboard/bulletin board combination will be a perfect message center for the office door to communicate with staff, post messages and handouts, and more.
The office is also lacking in secure storage space for sensitive testing documents and computers that are awaiting service. A small, durable, locking cabinet would provide that needed space, and it would double as a printer stand, freeing more table space for collaboration.
