My students are three to eight-year old students from a Title I school in Washington, DC. They are very motivated and engaged students who love to learn, play, and explore their environment. My students sometimes learn differently from their peers in some ways. Many students are auditory and tactile learners and some require specialized seating and fidgets to help them focus during learning time. They are super motivated, friendly, and active children who love to read, play, and engage with others.
My Project
This year, when students enter the classroom, they will feel like they are stepping into the rain forest. A beautiful and colorful rain forest plants and animals bulletin board set will enhance this feeling.
In addition, my goal this year is to motivate students by having them display their work front and center in the classroom.
Magnetic clips will allow students to hang their own work on the classroom white board. In addition, magnetic containers will also allow students to have easy access to math manipulatives during whole group lessons at the white board.
Finally, a bean bag chair in the library will help create a cozy space for readers.
