Located on the Flathead Native American Reservation in Montana, our Middle School serves over 400 students in 5th through 8th grade students from the surrounding areas.
We have a large Native American population (just over 50%) representing the Salish, Kootenai and Pend D’Oreille tribes.
Almost 90% of our students qualify as “low-income.”
We are located near the South of the Flathead Lake (the largest freshwater lake in the United States) and West of the beautiful Mission Mountains. We are the chiefs and maidens!
My Project
We work solely with white board top tables in our classes. This is great for collaborative learning and the students thoroughly enjoy being able to turn in work using Expo Markers on White Board Tables. They work with their groups to collaboratively come up with problem solving techniques and then produce a final product to be turned in by the team. Pictures of the work are taken and the work is turned in digitally. This is a fun and different way to complete work. The downside is that we do go through a lot of Expo whiteboard Markers. To avoid passing these costs on to the student, I have put together this (and other) projects to provide enough markers for a full school year. Thank you for considering this project!
