My Students
I have the absolute pleasure of working with an amazing group of students that have a wide range of abilities. They enter the classroom each and every day full of enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn. I work with grades 3,4, and 5 Autistic Support students who come from an impoverished neighborhood and lack the necessary materials that are desperately needed to not only aid in their success but also to enhance their learning experience, both academically and socially.
This exceptional group of children have so much potential and deserve only the best.
My students need highly differentiated instruction to learn adaptive, behavioral and academic skills. The disabilities in my classroom range between Autism and Intellectual Disability.
My Project
Our class has a diverse group of learners and among them, most of our learning is done through visualization and their ability to connect to the work through repeated practice.
Whiteboard contact paper will allow my students to practice their work at various work stations and reduce the amount of paper and pencils used.
Our classroom had to be moved during the first semester of the school year to ensure safety and as their teacher, I am working hard to make our new classroom feel more comfortable and an enjoyable place to be. As a teacher, meeting the needs of my students and their learning abilities is my ultimate goal. The contact whiteboard paper and basic classroom supplies will allow me to reach every learner. By meeting the needs of my students, it gives them the best opportunity to learn and grow, achieving their goals.
