My Students

Mathematics is such a fun subject to teach. My goal is to have my students see the amazing things that mathematics accomplishes all around them. My students are a diverse group of eager learners. They love hands on activities and collaborating.

My classroom fosters a spirit of team work and innovation that allows students not only to learn, but learn to apply.

I want students that leave my classroom at the end of the year to have developed a sense of perseverance and determination that they can learn to do anything.

My Project

In the 21st century classroom, collaboration is fostered and encouraged. Students can better explain their reasoning with illustrations or examples. I work in a Title 1 school and some of my students do not have funds to continually have the supplies they need. By having white board surfaces readily available all the time, this will no longer be an issue. Currently, we are working on quadratic equations and graphs. Students could use the white boards to sketch verbal descriptions of the functions to help better understand the standards. I can also use the tables in small groups to help students that are struggling and need more one-on-one instruction.
