Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have no place to keep our big books for reading. Most are in bad shape because I have to store them under my desk where the student will not get hurt with them.
Our town is in the middle of California surrounded by farm land.
I teach in a Title I school with 85% of students receiving a free or reduced lunch. I have 23 children in my classroom and they are all beginning to read. They mostly come from lower socio-economic homes and most of them are second language learners. Our class size has increased this year and will be even bigger next year.
My Project
I'm asking for a place to put our Big Books. They are all around and they are falling out of resource bins or are hidden away to protect my children. With this organizer, we can easily take turns perusing and selecting "just right" books to share. Plus my arms will not be hurting any more for hold oversize book for 20 minutes.
I'm also asking for puzzle. My students love to do puzzles especially when it is rainy and they can not go outside.
Donations to my project will make a difference in my students' lives.
They will be safe and my arms will not hurt from holding a big book for 20 minutes. They will also have fun activities to do on rainy days by doing puzzles.
