Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at my school are wonderful! Our School is a Title I school where all students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many students and their families have struggled with stability, but yet student attendance is at 97%. How incredible is that! I work as the Gifted teacher of many sweet and inquisitive students. They have a high potential for learning despite their economic disadvantages. They are quite resilient. Many students tell me they want to become engineers and surgeons. Each day I am fortunate to guide them in that direction!

My Project

I want my students to have updated US and world maps, in addition to a classroom globe. Often times, during a discussion there is a need to pull out a map or look on a globe, but I currently do not have any type of map in my classroom. I would like to be able to point and show specific locations to my students during active discussions. I want them to better visualize continents, countries and states! Please give! My students are sweet, inquisitive and are eager to learn, having various mapping tools will help them become more worldly individuals!
