I teach 7th and 8th grade students with special needs. Budgets are tight, and it is difficult to get materials to benefit students' educations.

"Watch the budget. Only buy absolute essentials". My students deal with classroom assignments every day that require them to know where a place is located. I only have one hanging world map in my room. For students who have a difficult time understanding geography,it would be wonderful to have a globe so they can envision where a place is located.

The interactive globe would allow my students opportunities to learn more about our world, and where things are happening that they hear about on the news. It would give them opportunities to locate places they are studying in their regular classrooms.

"Where in the world is that?" is a question that I hear from my students. Having a globe in my room would allow my students to learn where the places are that they hear about every day. When we talk about the war in Iraq, I can show them where that is. When we talk about drilling for oil in Alaska, we can see where Alaska is located. You will make it possible for my students to learn more about the world they live in and broaden their horizons.
