My Students
My students live and thrive in an ethnically diverse, culturally rich yet economically challenged community. Nearly 70% of my students received some type of financial aid. In spite of these challenges, my kids are some of the most resilient, caring and curiously unique people I have ever had the privilege to teach.
Many of my students will be first generation graduates and as children of the modern world, they are eager to learn and grow and find their place in this new century.
My Project
My middle school students will be getting a 'round the world education with new Merriam-Webster Student Atlases. There will finally be enough for everyone as we explore new countries, identify interesting land forms, analyze geographical trends and basically find cool stuff and neat places to go around the world. We would use our atlases complete our endeavor to virtually visit and map the entire world.
My students live in a very small town and will be able to work independently on projects that require in depth research and reasoning into the relationships between where places are and their cultural development.
