My students need a place to easily view the books available in the library. Currently, our computer station is tucked in the corner of the library out of the way of easy access.
The world has so many incredible places to visit, but on a limited budget that's next to impossible. Books are a way to explore the hidden treasures of the world. By reading about the adventures people have already taken, or learning about fictional places from the author's imagination, students can curl up in a comfortable spot and soar around the world from the comforts of their own school library.
Our school is a welcoming learning environment that places a great deal of focus on literacy.
The library is a place where students come to explore new and exciting places everyday. The school is lucky to be able to provide that kind of environment for the students on regular bases.
My Project
I am requesting one iPad and a stand for the library at my school. These two items will help add accessibility to the online card catalogue. With a catalogue online students should be able to readily access the card catalogue in our school, but the computers are tucked away in the back of the room, because of non-transferable wiring. An iPad will create a truly wireless catalogue that brings the resource to the front of the space and the student’s attention.
Having easier access to materials benefits the entire learning community at our middle school; this technology will move the library catalog from the back of the space to a more convenient location.
This iPad will be moved to an easily accessible space through use of the holding stand in the library for students to access when looking for books or resources. This iPad will be used for years and years! With accessible technology, students will be more aware of the resources available to them. Students will be able to come into the library and go directly to the online card catalogue instead of trying to find the website,
