Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As an educator in a low income school district, my students are faced with many challenges. These are challenges that vary from student to student. Despite the challenges my students face day-to-day, they are full of energy and ready to explore.
I describe my students as eager for attention and full of energy.
They like to move, enjoy manipulative activities, enjoy gluing projects, enjoy technology, and are explorers through the classroom environment.
The generation that I work for are explorers. My students are explorers who take the first opportunity they have to explore the material they have. They are learning the basics of school such as how to share with others, how to take turns, and how to develop small and large motor skills.
My Project
For this project, I am requesting a children's living room set. A living room set is more than just furniture that matches together. It will create a place where my students will have the opportunity to connect with peers and share moments together. Due to the fact that my students don't have complete living room sets in their own homes, I want them to have a complete living room set experience within my classroom.
The living room set will provide seating for children to practice reading skills, dramatic skills, counting skills, and so much more.
The living room set will be much more than just furniture. It will be the place where children practice multiple skills such as sharing and imitating. The living room set will benefit all the students in my classroom.
