Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a welcoming environment with a strong belief in building on the talents and experiences of our diverse student population. 76.5% of our students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, 25% are English learners, and more than 96% are students of color.
My class is made up of 35 enthusiastic students who are ready to learn and grow together.
We work hard to build a strong and supportive classroom community in which everyone can and will succeed. We learn and grow together through the sharing of our individual backgrounds and stories. Each perspective is respected and valued.
My Project
Students need opportunities to move around the classroom! These chairs, cushions, and clipboards are light and easy to move so that students can find a learning spot that works best for them.
Not everyone needs a desk and chair to focus!
Sometimes the distractions of others sitting close by can get in the way of students' success. These stools and cushions offer options for students to find a place where they can get their work done and be successful. They can grab a clipboard and a seat and get to work anywhere!
Since these stools, cushions, and clipboards are lightweight and easily transportable, they can also be used to support collaboration. Students can easily join into a small group with others, even when they don't typically sit near one another.
