Where did all the Chart Paper go?

The cost of chart paper is $163, including shipping and <a target="new" href="http://www.donorschoose.org/html/fulfillment.htm" onclick="g_openWindow('http://www.donorschoose.org/html/fulfillment.htm', 300, 800, 'fulfillwindow');return false;">fulfillment</a>.

I teach at a K-8 school in the Bronx and work with a great group of bi-lingual, special education students on the second grade level. My students are the age of most 4th and 5th grade students, but they function on a Pre-K level. Success for us comes little by little in small and simple steps. We use chart paper for everything every day and for every subject, but we are always running out. The school supplied a few charts at the start of the year, but the administration no longer has any. I have been purchasing paper every month at Staples, but my budget is running low and I am becoming the paper police. What I mean is, due to the expense of chart paper, I no longer let my students practice writing on the "big paper," which they love. I also have tried to talk to the teachers who cover my preparation periods about bringing their own chart paper because I am supplying paper for all of us. I really don't want to treat my fellow teachers in this manner, but, the fact is, chart paper doesn't grow on trees. Since it is essential to the instruction in my classroom, I have continued to purchase it, but I am now reaching out to Donors Choose to help offset this cost. I am asking for enough chart paper to last my class until the end of the year. We go through two tablets of chart paper per month. Since it is April and school lets out in June, I am requesting 6 chart paper tablets to help our instruction continue and to keep the teacher (me) from telling students that, "Chart paper does not grow on trees." (Pun intended!) Thanks again for considering this proposal!
