My students come to class daily, ready to work and play. We are located in a rural section of the most beautiful place in the world. Parents work hard to try to give their students everything they can. Coming from low-income neighborhoods, oftentimes, it is hard to help purchase supplies. Despite the struggles that my students face daily, they push through to climb the mountain of success.
It is my goal that every child enjoys learning and grows to be a very successful citizen.
The best way for this to be done is including the family in education. It takes a village to raise a child.
My Project
In our classroom students are always using post-its to mark their thinking while reading. Post-its are perfect size for 2nd graders to write on. The large paper will be to make anchor charts for students to use weekly with important information. We do these on Monday and then throughout the week we add our post-it notes with questions or statements to it. On Friday we can all review and answer any questions that they have had during our week. We will use the markers for students to create their own anchor charts. These supplies may seem minor to most, but when our class runs out it impacts our learning every day.
