My students need Time for Kids magazines to build literacy skills.

If I could describe my students in one word it would be brilliant. Every day that I'm with them I get to witness their brilliance. From the moment they enter my classroom, the magic begins. There's such a positive energy created by my students that resonate in our space. My students are authentic, intelligent, supportive and passionate about learning. To see them in action is amazing. My students love to read, write, create, craft, build, sing, dance - their potential is unlimited. They take ownership of their learning and strive for success. Being inquisitive and engaged in the learning process yield a room full of authors, illustrators, mathematicians, scientists, technicians, poets, teachers and learners. Every student in my classroom has a voice and by creating a culture of acceptance, they learn how to use it. They are comfortable in taking risks and know that the pleasant frustration they feel as I push them beyond their comfort zone is where the real learning occurs. No matter the obstacles they face outside the class, they learn how to preserve by believing in themselves.
Textbooks are a great source for teaching informational text. Since textbooks can go years before revisions, magazines are ultimately the best choice for the most-current information. We live in the era of technology and our students need to have up-to-date information.
TIME for Kids magazines will provide my students with current events, intriguing social studies and science articles, and thought-provoking ideas to ponder or research.
These magazines provide short passages, use a variety of different text structures, and are an excellent way for students to practice reading nonfiction.
TIME For Kids brings the world to students through high-interest interactive stories. All of the articles are extremely engaging, raise great discussions, and allow the students to think critically from multiple perspectives.
It's TIME for kids.
