I teach at a low-income school that needs some team/ school spirit! Many of our families live in government-subsidized housing and can often times live a transient lifestyle. Our goal is to help them get and keep the resources that each family needs to create a more stable living environment and hopefully eliminate moving from school to school. Our school wants to be a place where students and families feel welcome where students and families feel welcome. To do this we feel as if we need to create more school and community spirit more school and community spirit.
My Project
Our school district is asking us to remove soft fuzzy seating and carpets from our classrooms and replace them with items that are able to withstand cleaning with hospital grade cleaners to keep our classroom very clean and germ free. So I am requesting 20 soft venial seats that can be easily sanitized. I am also requesting 8 teddy bears to help transition back to school after COVID and teach Character Education lessons. My students have been through a lot and I want to give them things they will need to start the school year.
