My students are eager to learn! They come to school wanting to learn and ask lots of questions. My students are always looking for ways to share with others the projects we are doing in our classroom. Our school is a magnet school in a large, urban school district. The school is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. As an IB program, we focus on global themes that students can relate to and want to know more about.
At our school, we encourage inquiry and questioning of how things work and why.
We focus on hands-on inquiry. We believe in the power of choice and having lots of options to help us learn.
My Project
With the When I Grow Up STEM Series, students will be able to investigate the roles of Environmental Scientist, Archaeologist and Civil Engineers. Using the dress up clothing and kit materials will enable my students to pretend and imagine themselves as the community helper of their choice. These kits will expand our view of jobs past doctor, nurse, dentist, policeman and fireman.
Kindergarten students love to dress up!
They have rich imaginations that allow them to take information and use it during dramatic play. The requested items will let my students use their inquiry skills to explore the world of jobs,.
