When Coding and Sight Words Come Together

My students need a Dash robot for engaging centers to interact with so that I am able to meet with small groups of children. This would allow the kids to work on their coding skills as well as sight words.

My Students

We are students in a Title I school in South Carolina. About 65% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. We are always trying to come up with new ways to build the background knowledge and world experiences for the students in our classroom.

My students are special because they are a group of tender-hearted kids who have a true love for learning.

They love to explore and use activities to learn new concepts and ideas. They enjoy reading centers & playing sight word games. We have some of the most thoughtful kids in this class, and they cannot wait to get new items to encourage their learning.

My Project

The Wonder Workshop Dash Robot will make a difference because it will allow the students to use the dash robot to practice their coding skills while also working on sight words. They will be able to use this robot to trace sight words using the coding and also read sight words to them.

A class that codes together, stays together!

This is a fun and engaging activity that allows students to interact with technology as well as literacy. It will make a difference in their lives because it is promoting science, literacy, and teamwork.
