What's Your Number? Calculators for Ms. B's Algebra 1 Class
My students need 9 scientific calculators so they can complete the Algebra 1 curriculum. We also need 5 standard calculators for students in my Algebra skills class.
Imagine not being able to finish a math problem because your school district could not afford to buy calculators for your teacher's classroom. Since my students have learning disabilities, calculators are crucial to their learning. Please help me to help these important students learn.
My students all have learning disabilities in math.
They come from all backgrounds and from all around the city of Denver. Our school is a Title 1 school, so we do have a lot of economically challenged students. Many of my students do come from poor families. Because of budget cuts, this year we had no budget for classroom supplies. I had to personally buy all of our pencils, paper, poster board, white board markers, etc. I cannot afford to buy calculators. It would be an amazing gift to my students if you would help them by purchasing the calculators that I have requested. Thank you!
My Project
My students will use the calculators to find the answers for all types of math problems. My students learn everything! From solving complicated algebraic equations and systems, to graphing recursive routines, and computing discounts and sales tax, my students tackle it all! Can you imagine going into a supermarket and not knowing how to compute discounts on your groceries?
For my students, education is hope for a better future. Please help to give them hope by giving them the tools that they need to learn and understand math.

Students with learning disabilities need calculators as accommodations to help their learning. With these new, wonderful resources, my students will be able to learn unhindered and accomplish anything! Please fund this project, and give my students a chance for better lives.
