My students need high interest games to keep them reading. The great thing about these games is that the students do not even realize they are learning and having fun too!

My students need to discover learning on their own. This can be accomplished by using materials that focus on using cooperative learning groups and problem solving teams.
My students attend public school in a beautiful rural mountainous area where the school is at the heart of the community.
An area that has been hit by unemployment and underemployment for several years, my school of 300 energized and eager students is considered to be at a moderate poverty level. Our population is mostly Caucasian students with some English language learners.
My third grade students need hands-on activities to use in cooperative learning groups and problem solving teams. It makes me smile when I hear students say that I don't teach them anything, I just watch them work. I know that when they have to solve problems on their own is when they are truly thinking and taking responsibility for their own learning.
My Project
My students need high interest games to help keep them engaged while sharpening their reading comprehension skills. With these games I can place students in cooperative learning groups. They will have fun playing while learning at the same time.
They will ascend on a mountain-climbing adventure learning about cause and effect, visit different stores in a mall to brush up on fact and opinion skills, and make their way around a tropical island using context clues. This will make learning fun for my students!
By donating to this project, you will give my students the opportunity to expand their learning.
It is not enough to teach students about reading comprehension, they need to experience it. These games magnify learning as they are used for cooperative learning and problem solving, which are skills my students will need and use for the rest of their lives.
