What's the PBuzz in Music Class?

My students need Pbuzz instruments to complete our knowledge of instrument families. When studying instruments, we have not had an example of the brass family.

My Students

I am the general music teacher at our elementary school.

My students are very eager to learn music.

They come to class every day ready to learn. Our school is a STEAM magnet school, so the arts are very important in the development of our students.

Our school serves grades K-4. Our students come from a wide variety of socioeconomic backgrounds.

I would use these instruments with my 2nd grade classes. I teach six classes of second grade. Each class contains approximately 20 children.

My Project

I would like to purchase PBuzz instruments for my 2nd grade students. We have several instruments that we learn to play that cover the other instrument families. We have recorders for learning the woodwind family, dulcimers for learning the string family, and drums and xylophones for learning the percussion family.

Currently, I have no instruments in my classroom that teach kids the technique of playing a brass instrument.

These instruments would give my students a chance to experience an instrument from all four instrument groups. I feel that these instruments would send kids off to middle school with a firm knowledge of the instrument families so that they will be better informed when it comes time to sign up for band or orchestra classes.
