My students need Scholastic News weekly magazines to provide news and current events that will excite and stimulate their intersts in the world while improving their reading skills and abilities.

My Students

My third grade students are creative, energetic, and eager to learn. They are a diverse group of children coming from many different backgrounds. They also have differing abilities and preferred learning styles. I believe that a quality education is the great equalizer and I work hard to provide that for my students every day.

My students are curious about many things in the world around them.

They ask many questions and I work to bring them the tools and skills that will encourage them to be lifelong learners.

My Project

Having these weekly Scholastic News magazines for each of my students will help to improve their nonfiction reading skills and vocabulary. In addition, this resource will expose students to current, high-interst articles that will provide practice in other literacy skills like listening, speaking, debating, and writing. Students will also be reading graphs and tables, which connect to math, social studies, and science.

A subscription to Scholastic News will help students learn more about news and current events in the world that are appropriate for third grade students.

Scholastic News also has an online component that includes videos, graphics, and even quizzes that students will be able to access to further enhance their learning.
