My school is a Title 1 school and the majority of the students come from low-income single-parent homes. Some of my students are being raised by grandparents who really try to help as much as possible. Since the coronavirus pandemic, teaching and learning have been tougher on everyone. The breakfast and lunch is still being provided through delivery on school buses but some students are not in their own homes because no one is there to keep them, so they may not receive meals.
The students get to come to me at least once a week so we still meet virtually once a week.
My distance learning looks a little different from most teachers because I teach STEM. This is a challenge because students may not have access to the necessary supplies.
This coronavirus pandemic just put schools in a whirlwind. Not knowing that we would not be back in our classrooms was a difficult "pill to swallow". However, as an educator, we make learning happen where ever we are and in any situation.
The Easel Tabletop Magnetic Steam board will help me give students a visual while I am teaching at home.
I do not have the luxury of having a home office so I have to make provisions. Using the Easel and with access to the Copyholder Multifunction Kensington, I am able to show work as well. These two items will help me ensure that I am providing the best instruction I can in distance learning.
