This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
During the second semester my students will be participating in a hybrid school model which will be extremely hard for them. These students already have a disadvantage in life as my school has a high free and reduced-price lunch count and low test scores. In 2021, my students will be going back to school with an educational disadvantage our school system has never seen before due to Covid-19, in which curriculum has not been so easily accessible during the school system shut down. Third grade is a very important year for these students an they will strive when given equitable supplies.
My Project
Color my third grader student's future bright with supplies that support their education and ethnicity. When students re-enter the classroom during the hybrid model they will need to haul their individual supplies back and forth from home to school. It is will of great value and benefit for students to have individual supplies kept at school. Keeping supplies in individual storage areas they will not come up missing and educational opportunities will not be missed. During the student's two hour break in the middle of the day they will be able to self entertain themselves with the given materials so they are focused during instructional time.
